Facial and Leg
Vein Treatment for Spider & Varicose Conditions
Laser Removal of Veins
The revolutionary new laser treatment with the Laser system can
quickly and safely eliminate leg veins leaving your skin looking
smooth and your legs beautiful again. No other treatment can give
you such effective results. The redness and bruising associated with
traditional treatments or other lasers is minimized or completely
eliminated.
How does the Laser work?
The Laser produces 1064nm wavelength. While the rest of the skin is
almost completely transparent for this wavelength, it is highly
absorbed by the red blood cells. Thus, the laser beam passes through
the skin and penetrates the targeted vessel. The laser energy heats
up and coagulates blood inside the vessel. Unsupported, the vessel
walls collapse and seal. These vessels later dissolve within the
body.
What can I expect during the treatment?
You will experience a stinging burning sensation during the
treatment, which resolves immediately after the treatment is over. A
topical anesthetic cream is applied before treatment, which
typically eliminates any discomfort.
What should I expect after the procedure?
The appearance of the treated vessels will dramatically change,
turning from blue and purple into light red. Some of the vessels may
bulge, however, any inflammation will disappear within a couple of
hours. The redness of the treated vessels will gradually disappear
as the healing process occurs, which may take anywhere between 2 and
6 weeks, depending on the severity of the veins. The post-operative
treatment regime may include wearing support hose, avoiding
medication containing aspirin and wearing sunscreen.
When will I see any changes?
Immediately after the treatments the veins will look like a "cat
scratch". Approximately 2-3 weeks after treatment you will begin to
see a change in color from deep blue or purple to pink. The pink
color will gradually fade until the veins become invisible. The
length of time varies greatly between patients.
How many treatments will I need?
Depending on the severity of the veins, you may require between one
and three treatments six weeks apart. The treatment is performed on
the existing vessels, diminishing or completely eliminating their
appearance. However, the development of new veins cannot be
prevented. If your body tends to develop vascular problems you will
most likely come back for additional treatments.
What is sclerotherapy?
Sclerotherapy is a procedure of injecting a sclerosing agent with a
tiny needle, directly into the varicose vein. Following the
injection, a pressure bandage is applied to the site to compress the
vein. Sclerotherapy is reserved for the larger veins, whereas laser
is used to treat the smaller "spider veins". The use of the two
treatments in conjunction provides outstanding results.
Is the solution safe? How does it work?
In our experience we have seen absolutely no systemic effects. The
solution is injected directly into the veins with one of the
smallest needles available. The blood becomes trapped in the
injected veins. The body then gradually absorbs the trapped blood,
and the vein disappears.
Is the injection procedure painful?
Since the solution is so diluted, there may be only a slight
stinging or burning sensation as it is injected. Usually, it is
painless.
Do I have any bandages or elastic wraps after injection?
Usually there are foam tape bandages and a temporary pressure
dressing applied for a few days at the doctor's discretion. For
larger veins, pressure bandages may be required for several days.
Support hose should be worn to help prevent future dilated veins.
