Do you get confused and end up guessing which supplements are right for
you?
In nutritional supplementation, "one size" does not "fit all." We
all have different bodies, different diets, different health
conditions and different medications. A unique dynamic occurs
between the tissues and nutrients in your body that result in your
individual biochemical needs. Your supplements should be as unique
as you. We offer a Customized Supplementation program based on an
in-depth analysis of your current supplements and history as well as
laboratory testing (link to nutritional testing -- ION profile) with
formulation of a program with the right ingredients in the right
dosages- just for you.
Not only are your needs unique, they're often changing. Most
obviously, this is because you are changing. Perhaps you develop a
new health condition, or your diet changes, or you start taking a
new or different prescription medication, or maybe it's merely that
you're getting older. Over time, your needs are certain to change.
For this reason it is also important to re-evaluate your needs on a
regular basis.
Did you know that prescription medications can change our supplement
needs?
In some cases, your prescription medications will cause you to need
more of certain nutrients. This is because medications may deplete
your body of some important nutrients. They do this by interfering
with nutrient absorption or with their metabolism, storage,
transport or use by cells. For example, estrogen replacement therapy
can cause depletions of vitamin C, zinc, vitamin B-6, vitamin B-2,
magnesium, and calcium. Also, the use of statin (cholesterol) drugs
severely depletes CoQ10.
In other cases, your prescription medications will mandate taking
lower levels of certain nutrients. One reason: too-high levels of
some supplements can cause your medication not to function properly,
which could be dangerous. Another reason: excessive levels of
certain supplements may negatively interact with your medications,
exacerbating their negative side effects.
Scientific knowledge is always evolving, leading us to view certain
supplements differently. For example, synthetic beta-carotene was
long considered perfectly safe, but research revealed that it was
carcinogenic for smokers. And CoQ10 has become much more popular, as
more has been learned about its cardiovascular benefits. It is
necessary to constantly investigate scientific literature and change
supplement protocols to keep up to date.
All supplements can be purchased through our center. We strive to
find companies that produce pharmaceutical-grade supplements that
are made without wheat, egg, corn, salt, sugar, yeast, lactose, or
hydrogenated oils. We search for companies that assure you are
getting the highest quality ingredients available, formulated and
manufactured to exacting standards that meet the most stringent
designation of pharmaceutical standards.
A customized supplement program is the best way to ensure that
you're matching your supplement needs.
